Corkscrews, Bottle
Openers, and The Art of Opening
An exhibition of
corkscrews and bottle stoppers ranging from the functional to

The Wood Turning Center is putting together a juried/invitational
traveling exhibition of corkscrews and bottle stoppers
for a show scheduled for May
2009 in conjunction with the SNAG Conference in
Philadelphia. Juried by
Boris Bally and Michael Hosaluk. Deadline has
passed.
Decorative Resurgence
This exhibition will be held in the Rowan
University Gallery in Glassboro, NJ, April 20-May 29, 2009
-- coinciding with the SNAG conference. Contemporary metalwork and jewelry inspired
by historical ornamentation and decoration. Juried by Jill Baker Gowen and Jessica
Calderwood. Call for

(rEvolution)
Philadelphia Art Alliance
(rEvolution) will
highlight the work of all the artists that have taught at UArts
over the years. Juried by Sharon Church and Rod McCormick.
Neoteric Matter - New
Studio Jewelry
An exhibition of Studio Jewelry that highlights New Materials,
shown at Wexler Gallery in Philadelphia, May-June 2009,
coinciding with the SNAG conference.
The exhibition, juried by Daniella Kerner, Associate
Professor, Tyler School of Art, Temple University, will focus
on jewelry that is primarily comprised of new 21st century
materials or late 20th century materials, and their related
processes, that have significantly influenced the field of
jewelry. A few examples of new materials include: polymers,
materials used in rapid proto-typing, electronics, Precious
Metal Clay, new metal alloys, and composite materials.
Neoteric / adjective 1. Recent in origin; modern; new. noun 2.
a new or modern writer, thinker, etc.
Matter / noun 1. the substance or substances of which any
physical object consists or is composed: the matter of which
the earth is made. 2. physical or corporeal substance in
general, whether solid, liquid,
or gaseous, especially as distinguished from incorporeal
substance, as spirit or mind, or from qualities, actions, and
the like. 3. something that occupies space.
Please submit on CD (CDs will not be returned):

International submissions will only be considered if the work
will be shipped to Wexler Gallery from within the continental
USA, and the return shipment at the close of the exhibition
will be to a USA address. Overseas return shipment to the
artist will not be possible.

Exhibition
in Motion V

An exhibition in fashion show format, to be held during the
2009 SNAG conference (exact date and time TBA). Curated by Gail
M. Brown.
In keeping with the conference theme of REVOLUTION, the
curator will be looking for remarkable jewelry in motion, on
the body--objects that make a statement from a
distance—big, bold, outrageous, colorful, multiples of
smaller items, etc. The work submitted for consideration can be
a signature piece you already have or one you have created for
the occasion. Due to the transient nature of the Exhibition in
Motion format, we cannot pay for shipping or insurance. It is
our hope that participating artists will be attending the
conference and will hand deliver their work for this
distinctive event. Artists who are not attending the conference
are responsible for designating a friend or colleague to
deliver the work in person. The “model” who will
strut the runway may be of your choosing, either yourself, a
student, or another artist. There may also be some professional
dancers available as models.
If you are interested in being considered for Exhibition in
Motion V please send the following on a PC-friendly CD:
Images of up to 2 pieces of artwork (JPEGs sized at 8”x
11” at 72dpi) labeled with your last name and the title
of the artwork (Last Name—Title). Larger sized images
will not be accepted. An image list in WORD that includes
your contact information and each artwork’s title, date,
materials, dimensions, etc. Please include a brief statement
that can be used to introduce the work to the audience.

Experience – International Badge Exhibition

to the historical enamel badge collection from the Museum of
