What is SNAGnet?
SNAGnet is a web-based news service run as a list serve. Sent
to more than 2,000 subscribers, SNAGnet publicizes
opportunities in the jewelry and metals field:
- Exhibitions
- Job listings
- Competitions
- Calls for entry
- Workshops
- Classes
- Commissions
You must subscribe to receive the announcements.
SNAGnet is a service to the field, open to members and
non-members.
How do I sign up?

First, join Yahoo Groups: http://groups.yahoo.com
- Then join the SNAGnet Group itself by sending an email to SNAGnet-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
- You will then begin to receive SNAGnet posts as emails
How do I post an opportunity?

Follow steps 1 and 2 above (under How do I sign up?)
- To post an opportunity* send an email to snagnet@yahoogroups.com
- Make the email subject line informative and clear
- All responses to your post will be sent to the email address which you chose when you subscribed to SNAGnet

The moderator must receive it at least two weeks in advance of
the start of the event, in order for the post to be approved
and distributed.
How do I know if an email is a post from SNAGnet or a broadcast email from SNAG itself?
Any post from SNAGnet will appear in your inbox as an email
from:
"[SNAGnet] Person’s Name Who Posted" (sent by
SNAGnet@yahoogroups.com)
Broadcast messages from SNAG will appear in your inbox as an
email from:
"SNAG" (sent by info@snagmetalsmith.org)
*What will not be posted on SNAGnet?
The following types of posts fall outside the parameters of
SNAGnet:
- Any 'chat' type emails
- Personal requests
- 'For sale' items (SNAG members: see our Buy/Sell/Trade Forum instead - coming fall 2007)
- Attempts to raise money for individual projects
- Politically oriented posts
- Posts inviting small groups of people at the SNAG conference to arrange meetings or social events
