Anne Havel is a finalist for the Niche Awards in the medium of Metal-Enameled for her piece “State of the Earth Series: From Above, This is What I See.” Additionally, Anne was one of three artists featured in the article “Enameling with Fire” in the November 2012 issue of Lapidary Journal/Jewelry Artist.
Anne will be teaching torch-fired enameling at Jewelry Studies International in Austin, TX from April 15-19, 2013 and at Genevieve Flynn Studios in Kansas city, MO from June 14-16, 2013. She will also be teaching “How to Know What to Charge for Your Work” at the International Society of Glass Beadmakers’ (ISGB) annual conference in Rochester, NY on July 24 & 25, 2013.

One of John’s Art-Knives has been selected for inclusion in the Mesa Art Museum’s 34th Annual Contemporary Crafts exhibition. This is a highly competitive juried exhibition with only 47 pieces selected from a total of 275 submissions. The Mesa Art Center Museum of Art is located at One East Main Street, Mesa, Arizona 85201.

Nena Potts’ neckpiece “Roman Crown” composed of 125 enameled leaf components was chosen as a finalist in the 2013 Saul Bell Design Competition enameling category. Winners will be announced in February.
John Lunn has been awarded the CRAFTHAUS 2013 scholarship award. The award includes a blog group space on the Crafthaus website where John will explore multi-disciplined artists and how artists can converge skills and talents. The blog will be called “Tapestry of Talents: Bringing Your Whole Voice to Your Craft” and will begin in April.
In addition, John’s flute “The Dryad’s Kiss” is a finalist in the 2013 SAUL BELL DESIGN AWARD in the holloware category. The winners will be announced in March.
Inox Reverie, Claudio Pino’s new ring, was selected for FERROUS International Juried Exhibition at Velvet da Vinci Gallery and crafthaus, the beauty cover 2013 in the FLARE Magazine, and the article in the VJ Jewellery Vicenza Managazine, Italia.
Jaydan Moore was recently featured on Houston PBS’ new local arts show, Arts InSight, hosted by Ernie Manouse. Ernie visited both the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft and Jaydan’s studio to learn about Moore’s practice of fabricating new commemorative objects from found sliver-plated tableware and heirlooms. The show aired January 17th.
It has been recently announced that Rebecca Rose is the 2013 SNAG/crafthaus scholarship recipient. With this scholarship, Rebecca receives free conference registration to the SNAG conference in Toronto, one-year complimentary memberships in SNAG and crafthaus, and prominent blogspace on crafthaus for one year.
