Renee Blackwell has been named the 2013 Micro/Small Business Woman of the Year at the Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network awards. Blackwell’s jewelry is sold in over 150 stores and galleries across Australia and New Zealand.

Alexandra Hart’s work was part of the exhibition “Allied Craftsmen Today” at the Mingei International Museum. The sculptural vernacular of her “Arthropod” series is derived from the naturally adaptive, jointed, exoskeletal forms of the phylum Arthropoda. The pieces celebrate as “sculpture” the restrictive-yet-highly-functional and protective thorny outer shell of Arthropods such as beetles and crabs.
Anne Havel currently has her work included in two exhibitions: “Material Matters: Making Connections,” part of the ECU Metals Symposium in Greenville, NC and “Molten” at Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles, IL. Havel’s work will also be included in the upcoming book Behind the Brooch by Lorena Angula, due out in February.
Samantha Skelton is currently the Studio Apprentice at the Society for Contemporary Craft in Pittsburgh,PA, where she is designing and making organic, textural, contemporary wedding and fashion jewelry.
