Kalman creates jewelry that investigates contexts relating to sex, gender, power, pleasure, pain, taste, and beauty.
Canada Council for the Arts has awarded its 2015 Governor General’s Awards in Visual and Media Arts. Congratulations to jewelry artist Paul McClure, who received the Saidye Bronfman Award for excellence in fine crafts.
At Blackfoot Pathways: Sculpture in the Wild International Sculpture Park in Montana, “Re-Imagining the Delaney Sawmill TeePee Burner” is the vision of Kevin O’Dwyer. It will showcase black and white archival photographs of the area’s historic logging industry, printed on steel plate. When completed, it will also double as a community gathering place and performance space.
Sam Shaw has been named a 2015 Master Craft Artist Award recipient by the Maine Crafts Association. Recipients are selected for demonstrating excellence in craftsmanship, inspired design, a singular voice or style, and a career of service to the field.
