Cyril Etornam Adala

Cyril Etornam Adala is a versatile metal artist working in different techniques like raising,
chasing and repousse, jewellery and stone setting. He also works with different metals from
gold, silver, copper, aluminium and steel. He is a lecturer at the Metal Product Design
Section of the Department of Industrial Art, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and
Technology, Kumasi where he teaches Raising, Surface Decoration and finishing, Chasing
and Repoussé. His Chasing and Repousse works focuses on African lifestyle themes while he
explores the flexibility of metal through his Raising works.

He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Art from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science
and Technology and also holds an MFA Jewellery and Metalsmithing Degree from the same
institution. He is a self-taught artist who loves to teach and inspire others through his life and
works, and also believes that it does not matter who you are or where you come from if only
you have the desire to succeed and put in the time and effort to work, you can make
something beautiful out of your life.
