Thanks to the generous support from the Maxwell/Hanrahan Foundation, SNAG is thrilled to welcome nominations for the inaugural 2024 IMPACT Awards. This initiative aims to celebrate and support those making extraordinary contributions to the ever-evolving field of jewelry and metalsmithing. These awards are presented to two practitioners whose hand-crafted work has demonstrated notable impact in the areas of socially responsible practice, sustainability, technical innovation, and/or creative innovation. A committee of three to five members will be appointed by the Board and charged with selecting the recipients.
Awardees will receive an unrestricted $3,000 prize along with a $1,000 stipend and registration pass to attend and speak at the 2024 SNAG conference, recognition at the conference, a featured artist profile on the SNAG website, and a 1-year SNAG membership. Applicants must reside in North America and may be nominated by others or self-nominated. SNAG membership is not required for nominators/nominees. Nominations will remain on file through two award cycles.
- Noteworthy contribution(s) to the field of jewelry and metalwork, manifested through a creative hands-on practice
- Nominee’s practice reflects the values and principles that guide SNAG’s mission and vision
- Demonstrates significant impact in the areas of socially responsible practice, sustainability, technical innovation and/or creative innovation. (Examples could include but are not limited to creating a tool/process/technique that is useful to you and others, a body of work that addresses current issues, reviving an ancient technique and using it in contemporary practice, etc.)
The call for the IMPACT Awards opens Friday, January 5th, 2024.
All nominations and accompanying documents must be submitted by 11:59 pm (EST), March 17th, 2024.
Recipients will be notified no later than April 15th, 2024 so arrangements can be made to attend the SNAG conference in San Diego, CA June 5th - 8th.
