New work in progress! 🌸🌷🌸 I spent the last year focused more on making smaller pieces and finishing up projects while getting settled in my job. This past weekend, it was really fun and so nice to stretch my studio legs and work on some wearable sculpture again. This is the start of a neckpiece I cut on the waterjet at #thinkbox 😻 From there, I took the piece home, cleaned up the burrs, and sanded up my aluminum. I took the inspiration for these two silver rings from Ernst Haeckel’s art forms in nature. The first is called tetracoralla and is a fossil of coral. The second is called penntulida which is a fossil but no one seems to know what of.
I’ll have both of these rings with me at the@odditiesfleamarket in Chicago this weekend. Come see them in person.
