The VCUarts Emerging Artist Fellowship in Craft/Material Studies is a one academic year residency for recent MFA graduates. Fellows are provided the opportunity to concentrate on their work, build community, gain valuable teaching experience, and participate in a vital, interdisciplinary, socially progressive community of artists at VCU. A grant awarded by the Charitable Windgate Foundation generously supports the stipend that includes a housing and studio allowance in addition to a teaching stipend and research support.

The Fellows will teach two classes per semester (6-8 credits), present a public talk or participate in a panel discussion, and could serve as a guest critic or guest speaker in a class. The Fellow will receive a part-time adjunct faculty contract with an instructional salary of up to $31,000, which is inclusive of a housing and studio allowance.
