Department of Visual Art, University of Kansas, is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with a specialization in Metalsmithing/Jewelry/CAD/CAM. We are seeking a faculty member whose creative practice balances traditional metalsmithing facility with innovative new technology. The position is expected to begin January 2023.

The successful candidate will have professional achievement/research in a metalsmithing/jewelry studio practice; have a broad knowledge of traditional and current technologies, concepts, and practices of metalsmithing/jewelry; develop and teach all levels of undergraduate courses in Metals including CAD/CAM; oversee a 3D fabrication lab in the Metals area; advise students; work with Visual Art MFA students across media disciplines and serve on committees.

An MFA in Metals/Jewelry or terminal degree in a related field and evidence of successful university teaching are required. Applications from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
