Online Workshop: Tab Construction and Folding Techniques for 3-D Forms with Nisa Blackmon
November 3, 10 & 17, 2022 (12:00- 2:00 pm ET)
In this workshop, we will explore the quirky and versatile world of tab and fold construction. Tabs are a light-hearted, yet the sturdy method of holding together three-dimensional forms (like vintage tin toys!) and are full of decorative and textural potential. Nisa will discuss multiple ways to design, pattern, and use tabs structurally, aesthetically, and as a means of creating integral findings and connecting components in jewelry and small-scale sculpture. Key concepts and techniques will be demonstrated each week, including the requirements for enameling on tabbed forms.
All levels are welcome; beginners should have sawing, piercing, filing, and sanding skills.
