The Artist-Blacksmith’s Association of North America seeks a Social Media Coordinator/Editor for a remote, part-time, 6-month temp-to-perm opportunity.

ABANA seeks a candidate to manage and communicate outwardly about ABANA on social media; participate in the development and refining of ABANA’s mission and brand; research and implement new trends in social media; develop and implement a social media campaign for membership growth and retention; and develop benchmarks for social media performance and website traffic.

Daily tasks include informational posts; reacting and responding to questions and posts of others with equanimity; and promoting and connecting fellow blacksmiths & groups.

Daily postings will include sharing a mix of internal- and external-source content. Building and connecting a network of blacksmithing and blacksmith-related groups both nationally and worldwide is a central responsibility of this new position.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms as applicable to ABANA; prior experience managing social media or public relations (non-profit and blacksmithing knowledge is a plus); be a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, including the ability to analyze and present social media campaigns and best strategies in an understandable manner to the Board and ABANA’s Executive Director.
