Financial packages and GTA positions are available. Our students also have access to local teaching opportunities through the North Dakota Museum of Art and other area art organizations. Our 2600+ sq ft metalsmithing area offers a complete range of metalsmithing tools. We also have a digital fabrication lab including FDM and SLA printers, direct casting, laser cutting, and laser welding. We are one of only four universities in the United State and the only one in the Midwest that teaches the industry standard CAD program Matrix Gold. Our professors have significant experience in traditional metalsmithing techniques, digital fabrication, as well as commercial jewelry design. Metalsmithing graduate students are also provided their own dedicated studio space adjacent to the main metalsmithing studio.
