This demo focuses on the use of steel, typically considered a non-precious metal, in combination with precious metals for the fabrication of jewelry and small sculpture. Participants will learn about the working properties of steel and what makes it similar, yet different from working with non-ferrous or precious metals, from annealing, to silver and gold soldering on steel, to small-scale oxy/acetylene welding.
