As one of 178 parts, this project aims to deconstruct and understand my identity as a Veteran by physically disassembling an aircraft gauge. Each piece is carefully removed in chronological order, tagged and numbered–a process reminiscent of what it is like to experience military culture. But then I take the time to construct a box for each individual part, cleaning and carefully packaging its contents. Rather than carry on the typical traditions, bend conventions by adding a feminine touch.
