What is the power of jewelry? How do you represent that power – in the form of jewelry itself?

My current series “Allegories of Jewelry” seeks to answer those questions. Each brooch is an allegory, representing one or more of the attributes of jewelry that contribute to its power. And, not coincidentally, to those properties of jewelry that make to form unique in all the visual arts. I think about bodies, ornamentation, eroticism, and the hand. Knowing that, you can decode the imagery.
