The common element of design in this piece is borrowed from the New York Connecting Railroad viaduct, overpassing many situations and ending in a landmark bridge in Queens, NY. The prototype of the first arc, in the fashion of architectural models, was laser cut out of balsa wood. Cast in metal and hinged later.
Zangar’s ASTORIA is a collection of handcrafted jewelry in which the banal image of everyday life in the city is framed as mythology in the accessories of urban contemporary hustlers.
