Artist bio: My work is a study of duality and the embodiment of the inner self through the depiction of motion using the abstraction of nature and people. As a competitive figure skater for 13 years, I instinctually draw on the rips and curls of my blades while imbuing my designs with the same flow and movement that I feel and see in other skaters. My central motif of internal expression and freedom has been depicted as trapped filigree scrolls locked into delicate frames, and birds and butterflies taking to the turbulent sky. More recently, the use of spindly rays that break into space off of the wearer and suspend stones display isolation and my own delicate nature. I play off of the visible conflict in nature that is also heavily ingrained within ourselves.

I am currently pursuing a BFA, focusing in jewelry design and metalsmithing at Texas Tech University with Professor Robly Glover and Professor Nancy Slagle. Here, I aim to further hone his skill set and expand my creative boundaries.
