Biology of the Strange VI

Artist Statement: This brooch is part of an ongoing series that explores my fascination with the natural world and various metalsmithing processes including electroforming and enameling. Rather than documenting real world forms, the work is an abstract celebration of the beauty and strangeness that can be found in the natural world. In Biology of the Strange VI, the tube set cubic zirconia provides a stable, geometric center that anchors the radiating irregularity of the overall form.
