Blue Ridge is a sculpture that reflects the plant species I encountered while in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The blooming form of this wearable piece is connected to the breathing cycles used in meditation, while the radial designs of the flowers and foliage draw from prayerful mandalas. The colors are inspired by the layered appearance of the Blue Ridge Moutain scape as the sun rises and sets and the moisture of the clouds comfortably becomes nestled between the peaks and valleys.
