This brooch was created to celebrate my dad’s legacy of love. After his death I spent a year embroidering and etching a selection of my dad’s words, from letters he wrote me, onto denim and copper sheet. The scale and metalsmithing techniques hopefully offer a sense of status and permanence to the wearer. By transforming a commercially embroidered work patch into copper, I hope, this brooch provides a sense of humor and honor.
