Cracks in My Armor

Molly Sandweiss

As a neurodivergent person, I often have to hide parts of myself and change my behavior to fit in better with those around me. This is commonly referred to as “masking;” I have to put on a social armor to feel safe interacting with people without being seen as “weird” or “stupid.” Yet, the real me always seems to leak out. Cracks in My Armor explores this feeling of trying to fit into social expectations to protect myself, yet still feeling like an outsider when I miss the mark.
