Artist bio: My Art Jewelry has always been about texture, metal and mixed media but enrollment in Northern Illinois University Graduate School of Art and Design and recent challenges have shifted my materials. My current work is created utilizing the computer aided modeling program Rhino3D. Rhino enables me to design and create components for my three-dimensional jewelry on my computer then have it printed by outsourcing or laser cutting. My current work resembles my previous work in that I create unique large scale Art Jewelry; frequently necklaces inspired by flowers mostly in nylon and acrylic. The dimensionality I can create in this exciting new format is so lightweight that I am able to create pieces larger than I have ever attempted. Challenges = Opportunities!
