The Force of Nature work series includes dichotomy of environmental disasters and natural field of forces such as magnetic fields, wind and weather. The high sierras symbolize this action and stand as a majestic ridge through California. Their distant allure from my high desert studio has become engrained in my work. They too become contributors to natural balances and dramatic floods with excessive snow. This brooch evokes the form and force of peaks that go to 14,000 feet.
