Ikura

Ikura is part of FEAST! , my solo exhibit at NYC JW22. FEAST! is a very intimate show: a Chinese new year table with placemats of images and stories of my immigrant parents, my children who grew up in Asia, and meals we shared. I created jewelry for each placemat. Ikura is a woven carnelian and silver brooch resembling salmon roe, often found on sushi menus. This piece tells of life with my younger child, an autistic savant, and how sushi was one of the few meals we could all agree on.
