I have been alloying shibuichi for some time now and investigating the best way to incorporate it into my work, there is much to be learned from this alloy- it requires patience and to be carefully tended. In tandem I have been exploring and reducing the leaf motif to its essence. My Long Leaf Necklace I feel successfully merges the leaf form and the shibuichi with 18 karat gold connections. The line of the gold joining the leaves creates a beautiful interplay between the two elements.
