Artist bio: The science of art inspires my glass and metal-formed art pieces. My creativity is guided by the chemical, physical and natural world I explored as an artist and scientist. I delight in understanding scientific processes of glass, organic elements, metal, and electricity, which provide a platform for artistic growth. Elements of my work represent science while my palette of color, form, and design embrace an intersection of the natural world with fantasy that challenges the boundaries of reality. After a career as a professional hydrologist, my style boldly embraces and celebrates science. I am is best known for my electroforming work, combining real flowers, insects, and fossils with inorganic materials and my lampwork floral designs. Inspired by everything I see, feel, and experience, I bring disparate objects together to create pieces that are infused with fantasy and energy.
