Artist bio: Northern California Artist and educator, Erin Austin, has been working with jewelry and small metals as an avenue for exploring interpersonal relationships and connections with nature since 2005. Erin received a BA from Humboldt State University in 2007 and will receive an MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2024. Her current work combines metals, animation, video, and biodegradable materials as she explores humanity’s desire to understand its place in the natural world as we navigate a quickly changing ecological landscape. Erin’s pieces have been exhibited at the Society of Arts and Crafts; the Craft Council of British Columbia, made its runway debut at the Society of North American Goldsmiths Exhibition in Motion, and was shown at the Lewton Brain 2021 Foldfom Competition where she was the recipient of the Juror’s Choice Award.
