Camille Torres

The Hatchling

Artist bio: Camille Torres earned her BFA in Jewelry/Metal Arts at CCA and works out of her studio in San Pablo. Born and raised in Northern California, her aesthetic is influenced by the majestic beauty that distinguishes the hills of her home. Flora, fauna, and the cycles of nature are the foundation of her work. A fabricator at heart, she thrives on detail, building wearable pieces that call attention to the ecological interdependence of nature versus the human experience.

The Hatchling Artist Statement:
Change is inevitable. It’s in every breath, every word that we say, every whim. We are in a constant state of change, building the future of our lives even when we feel stagnant. When we are held, however, nestled into a firm, comfortable place, we are given the security we need to break through our confining shells and launch into life, embracing the change. It turns loss into opportunity, grief into gratitude, and fear into hope.
