Winter Woods II is from a 2023 series, “Terra Nova Scotia” which was inspired by the landscape and seascape of coastal Nova Scotia. I live and work in a waterfront 18th C. historic district. My neighbor is a century old barrel factory which builds traditional barrels and tubs that fishermen here still use. Many in use are vintage. When they come in for repair, the barrel factory gives me the broken vintage staves, which become components in my jewelry design.
