Brenda Lujan

My name is Brenda Lujan. I am an artist who loves to learn about working with different mediums. Working with Metals this year was very interesting and captured my attention in taking my art work to another level. I love creating art in 2D and then bringing it to life in 3D I hope I can keep going and exploring more with working with metals.

Innocence

Date of Creation: May 4, 2023

List of Materials: brass, nickel silver, resin, polymer clay,

Dimensions: 6 x 4.5 x 2

Photographer's Name: Brenda Lujan

Conceptual Statement: This piece is a daisy made with brass and nickel and for me it represents the innocence and purity of an unborn child in the womb. In the middle of the daisy I captured and created model of a baby with polymer clay in resin and outside on the petals would be the different ways an abortion could take place. There is a plan B pill, plan C pill, and even the physical extraction. I wanted to bring awareness of to what abortion is to people who may not really know what it means.
