Chloe Glore

Originally from Orange County, Chloe Glore is a graduating senior at San Diego State University, majoring in Applied Design with an emphasis in Jewelry and Metals. Chloe has practiced silversmithing for almost 4 years and crafts and sells her own silver jewelry. Her fascination with metallurgy and metal casting techniques has led her to make one-of-a-kind pieces that represent her love for the craft and the process of creation.

Conceptual Statement: The concept and primary source of inspiration for this project are the organic forms of the maiden veil fungus and other fungal species. The fascination with the patterns found in the fungal kingdom led to a focus on repetition and organic shapes. For this necklace, the paper was manipulated using laser cutting techniques to create intricate and precise negative space. The concept of the photoshoot was to emphasize the initial inspiration behind the project thus showcasing the natural patterns created by the maiden veil fungus and ultimately, exploring how these patterns can be translated into wearable art.
