Either and Neither

Either-and-Neither

Artist Statement: The piece represents a moment, a certain feeling, or a part of myself that is responsible for revealing parts of my identity as an individual, a daughter, and a foreigner.

As an international student, bicultural environments can be both interesting and stressful. Outsider represents how I am struggling with switching between two cultures all the time, mentally and physically. I wish to find a balance or a place to feel safe and belong in the future.
Either and Neither was inspired by a question that I recently got: “Where are you from? I mean, where are you really from?”
