Kattie Jones

I graduated from Edinboro University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (focus in Metalsmithing-Jewelry) in 2019. During my time there, I discovered my love for being in a studio. I found myself especially drawn to hammer-forming techniques and fascinated by the intimate relationship I was able to have with the materials.

I stayed in Edinboro for a Post-Baccalaureate opportunity to continue my work and engage as a graduate student for a year. Afterward, I started my career as a jeweler. I currently live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I continue to learn and create in my personal studio, exhibit my work nationally, and explore opportunities.

Conceptual Statement: After falling from a tree, a small nest lays dormant on the ground. Abandoned. These domed paper-like walls still stand after the cold sets in. Small cells inside, once a nursery for young ones, are now frozen in time. Wasps are not our favorites but their nests are architectural masterpieces.
