Artist Statement: Desire always exists infinitely, and the desire that is repressed in the unconscious mind is always looking for a way to vent and be fulfilled, and the fulfilled desire is the way for human beings to obtain pleasure. Society determines the forms of acceptable desires, and through education, media and other means of communication, it subconsciously influences our consciousness, so that when we realize that some desires do not conform to the rules and expectations set by society, we unconsciously suppress them.
The metal part takes the basic shape of the behaviors that human beings present when they face pressure. These behaviors isolate me from the outside world and are a kind of self-protection behavior of mine. In other words these behaviors make me feel safe. The lines of fluidity are the external forms that present these behaviors. Because the fluid line twists uncontrollably, as if it could stretch and twist infinitely if we didn’t deliberately stop it. This symbolizes the freedom.
