MM1.77 Brooch, Purlieus Collection

Date of Creation: 02/03/2020

Conceptual Statement: The Purlieus Collection is a series of jewelry forms created in enamel and is inspired by the three mile radius of environment I walked regularly while living in rural North Carolina from 2017-2020. Each piece is named by the mile marker where I frequently surveyed and photographed with each passing between the months of January and July 2020. The image series with Lucy Plato Clark, that includes this capture, was photographed in the location for which the brooch was inspired.
