As an artist, I’m always exploring the boundaries between reality and perception. In today’s world, where fake news and misinformation are rampant, it’s more important than ever to be discerning and truthful. That’s why I’ve chosen to use collages of newspaper and metal stars in my work.

Newspapers are a source of information and storytelling, but they can also be a vehicle for propaganda and falsehoods. By cutting and rearranging the pages, I’m disrupting the original narrative and creating a new, potentially contradictory one. It’s a way of questioning and challenging the messages that we receive from the media and asking ourselves: What’s the truth behind the headlines?

At the same time, the metal stars that I incorporate into my collages are a symbol of authenticity and self-awareness. They remind us to stay grounded and true to ourselves, even in the face of conflicting information and opinions.

Lastly, the brass stars frame newspaper clippings and serves as a reminder of the power of the media in shaping our perceptions and understanding og these issues. My hope is that these earrings will serve as a catalyst for challeging conversations about wealth inequality, the urgency of social justice, and the role of media in shaping our perceptions of these issues, and becoming a conduit for views to reflect on their own relationships with these factors. Ultimately, these earrings are a call to action, and a reminder that we each have a role to play in creating a more just and equitable society. Whether through small
