Artist Statement: Grief takes hold of you, suffocates you, kicks you when you’re already down, it stays with you, keeps you from doing what you love. Grief is something I have come to know intimately in the past year. I lost my aunt to cancer and a few months later lost my dog to the same disease. Losing the biggest part of my support network and then my first dog in quick succession has left me drained and lost. I took my grief and made a small collection of objects for remembrance. Beautiful, thoughtful, and sentimental containers to heal the trauma.
