My personal craft practice is an exploration of self, environment, body adornment, and nostalgia. I rely on jewelry formats as systems to analyze my environment while also searching for a time/place of belonging. The traditional hand skills of decorative arts/crafts are integral to my studio practice. I have historically utilized a number of hammer techniques in my work to explore form, but lately have been shifting toward casting and enameling to generate content. The directness and truthfulness of casting, then followed by mold-making, becomes narrative of the journey I take in analyzing landscape. The inclusion of enameling techniques is a constant in my work.
