Inspired by motifs from the 1920s, 30s, and 40s, I try to interpret the details of what defined these eras into modern, minimal jewelry and big, bold, statement pieces.
My primary materials are sterling silver, copper and titanium—adding color through the addition of ground glass and epoxy resin, enamel, or by anodizing. The process begins with a sketch, lots of experimentation and prototyping. Failure and refinement change the original idea along the way, and this need for flexibility and problem-solving excites me. My work is fabricated by hand using a combination of traditional metalsmithing tools and new-fangled technology.
I like accessories that are a bit quirky, unexpected, and always fun…. I hope you do too.
