Inspired by traditional Japanese paper stencils known as Ise katagami, intricate surface designs are created, refined and adapted for digital die cutting. Using fine artists papers (recycled, post-consumer cotton rag and sustainable plant fibers), the patterns are cut and laminated, finished with acrylic lacquer, then folded and connected with stone settings and Neodymium magnets, to construct lightweight, colorful, elegant jewelry.

I am a native of Philadelphia, PA, with a BFA from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA, and an MFA from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. My current work explores alternative jewelry-making processes combining cut paper with precious metal using traditional techniques and state of the art technology.
