From the series “Of Rust and Roses”, “Charmed, I’m Sure . . . and Other Things I’ve Lost Track Of” is a sculptural charm garland that incorporates objects that physically and aesthetically represent Eastern North Carolina to me. It’s meant to be a love letter to the varied landscapes, the flora and fauna, and other aspects I’ve experienced here. Through the repetition of materials and imagery, I explore my relationship to this area and how it shapes my personality and my place in the broader community.

Bio
Liz Steiner received her MFA in Metal Design at East Carolina University in
Greenville, North Carolina. and a BFA in Jewelry/Metals/Enameling from Kent State University in 2006, where she also earned a minor in Geology. She has exhibited work both nationally and internationally. She has written articles for Metalsmith Magazine.
