I often use diverse materials with metal and Curled Pod brooch is made of laminated bent maple wood and steel wire. It is part of my Florilegium Project which explores our relationship with plant matter in the celebration of life’s joys and sorrows. This piece exemplifies the flow that binds all of nature together.

Carolyn Young's contemporary jewellery has been exhibited in juried and curated exhibitions across Canada, in Romania, and in the U.S.A. and has been published in numerous exhibition catalogues. Young held a Maker Residency at the Canadian Craft Biennial in 2017 and her work was awarded Best of Jewellery at Toronto Outdoor Art Fair in 2022.
