From the earliest times humans have decorated themselves with objects hung around their necks. The neck is where the mind and body, head and heart come together. It is in its self a transitional point from the celestial to the terrestrial. As such, it is a fitting point to place an object of adornment or magic. For this Necklace, I have chosen to use objects that are readily available in our society as my materials. When placed in multiples, they transcend their original purpose and are elevated into the realm of thoughtful and beautiful objects. The massing of single units to create my jewelry forms has been an exploration in formal and conceptual practice that leads to a plethora of possibilities.
