Sandra uses shell-forming, fold-forming, and raising techniques to create graceful forms that follow the patterns of nature. The tension between the stamina and fragility in nature inspires her work. The clean lines and rugged textures she creates reflect the endurance within nature.

Much of Sandra’s inspiration flows through an evolving process. As she hammers and manipulates the metal, She is inspired by the emerging shape that unfolds. Her technique is purposefully loose, allowing for each step in the process to dictate the next. She considers each of her pieces to be a unique and wearable sculpture, with a story and a voice of its own.
