I am looking at hurricane damaged landscapes photographed from above – from planes or helicopters as they survey and record the damage wrought by our ever more severe hurricane seasons. The post-storm scattered mess of flora, building materials, and ephemera of daily life also intrigues me. These images represent a new way of seeing a building and destruction cycle never before experienced to the extent we are now seeing due to the onset of climate change.

Bio
Pat Nelson was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. After graduate school at New Paltz, she began a 35 year plus teaching career at Ball State University where she taught all aspects of metals and foundation design. After retiring, she began her presidency of The Enamelist Society. She continues to exhibit and teach nationwide.
