I am submitting work from my first collectyion – Menhir. The idea for this collection’s aesthetic came to me from a medicine walk I had taken about year previously. I was still trying to figure out what the revelations of that walk had meant and it eventually came out in this work. The Menhir collection aesthetic is a combination of ancient monlithic forms and the irregular shapes as created by Alexander Calder.

The piece I am offering for consideration is one of the latest additions to the Menhir collection. It is a ring made from two sheets of sterling silver interspersed and bridged by a bezel set Pink Zircon. The silver ‘wings’ are textrued in immitation of the surface of a Menhir or monolith. The gem is set in a 24ct gilded bezel that is polished and finished with a soft sheen to reflect on the inner faces of the ring’s shank/wings along with the colour of pink Zircon.

I am a self-taught, award winning, jeweller who creates what others have coined as elegant, eccentric, and exquisite fine jewellery. My creations are inspired by the 'ancient', Mid-century Modern and Brutalist aesthetics of the 20th century.
