My work is typically a look inward at the trauma, dysfunction, awkwardness, or emotional state of self. Through introspection, I create repeated patterns and icons that relate back to familiar or personal subjects or recreate specific or hoarded items in metal and glass to show intimate significance. Subjects range from grief and death to chronic or invisible illness and embarrassment.

Emily Pellini is an enamellist, metalsmith, and illustrator from Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. She has a BFA in Studio Arts, Metals, from Millersville University in Millersville, PA and an MFA in Studio Arts, Metals, from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She currently teaches at Rowan University and the Delaware Art Museum.
