This brooch celebrates the pioneering forces of the women’s suffrage movement. The passing of the 19th amendment was the beginning of a much longer fight that we continue to this day. VOTE and continue the activism of diverse women in history that have fought against voter suppression and for electoral equality that continues to be challenged today.

My designs feature the conversion of illustrations into colorful wearable artwork. My Mexican-American background shaped my understanding that physical presence of color is so intoxicating that it can help re-define our emotional landscape. Jewelry is treated like a wearable canvases to bring levity and awareness to our everyday experiences.
